Private personal health management from North Signal Studio.
Development status: Lifeline is currently under development and uses synthetic or approved non-production data for development and verification.
Lifeline is designed to help individuals organize personal health information on their own authorized devices. The initial workflow focuses on medication and prescription-fill management, including patient-authorized retrieval of supported medication information from participating healthcare systems.
Lifeline is built around a local-only model for private health state. North Signal Studio does not operate a Lifeline cloud database, cloud synchronization service for private health records, or cloud authentication proxy. Private Lifeline state is intended to remain on the user's authorized devices, with direct authorized-device synchronization used where synchronization is provided.
When a user chooses to connect a supported healthcare provider, Lifeline uses patient-authorized standards such as SMART on FHIR to communicate directly with the provider's systems. Healthcare providers are data sources, not Lifeline's source of truth, and their services remain subject to their own availability and privacy practices.
Lifeline's first integration work focuses on retrieving supported medication-order information and related medication details through approved patient-facing healthcare APIs. Additional fill-status information is used only when the provider advertises an appropriate supported capability.
Lifeline is an information-management tool and is not medical advice, diagnosis, treatment, or an emergency service. Medical decisions should be made with an appropriate healthcare professional.
